The need for reproductive and child health (RCH) and HIV/AIDS interventions is compelling. According to the Zambia Demographic Health Re-port (ZDHR) 2011. There has been a reduction in the level of maternal mortality rate from 729 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2002 to 591 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2007. The goal is to reduce the maternal mortality ratio to 429 deaths per 100,000 live births by 2015.
